The Doron Hotel Armchair was originally designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1947 for the Méribel Les Allues ski resort and Hôtel Doron, one of the first chalet-hotels in the French Alps.

Her independent works include the Doron Hotel Chair (1947) and the Ombra Tokyo Lounge Chair (1954). Perriand's designs prioritize ergonomics, natural and industrial material, and adaptability to modern living spaces. Her library of work has had a major impact on modern furniture design and architecture.
