Soriana Sofa: Three-Seater

The original Soriana series was originally designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa and unveiled at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 1969. Its form expresses beauty and comfort by using a bundle of plush upholstery held by a treated steel clamp.

Afra Bianchin (1937-2011) and Tobia Scarpa (b.1935) were Italian designers who revolutionized 20th-century furniture and industrial design. They are renowned for their innovative use of materials and forms in architecture, including the renovation of Palazzo Benetton in Treviso. The Scarpas' furniture designs, such as the iconic Soriana armchair & sofa series (1969) and the Bastiano sofa (1960), blend traditional craftsmanship with modern production techniques. Their lighting, including the Papillona lamp (1977), further demonstrates their versatility and continue to influence contemporary interiors and product design.
