The Hairpin Stacking Stool was originally designed by Florence Knoll as the Model 75, introduced in 1948 as one of her earliest catalogue pieces.

Functioning as both a seat and hairpin side table, the Hairpin Stacking Stool can be stacked up to five high for efficient storage. Its bent steel legs stem from Florence Knoll’s earlier experiments with steel rods at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.

Florence Knoll Bassett (1917-2019) was a pivotal American designer, architect, and entrepreneur, recognized for her contributions in shaping the modernist furniture, corporate interiors, and modern architectural landscapes. Knoll studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art and the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, mentoring alongside Eero Saarinen, Charles & Ray Eames, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and other iconic designers. Her design approach included functionalism, modernism, integration, attention to detail, and collaboration.
