This coffee table is recognizable for its innovative use of molded plywood technology that the Eameses perfected during WWII. The table features a 5-layer molded plywood top with a slight indentation. It differs from its CTW counterpart, which has wooden legs Vs. the CTM’s tubular steel legs. The Eames CTM Coffee Table was initially produced by the Evans Molded Plywood Company. It was part of the groundbreaking 1946 collection that showcased the potential uses of molded plywood in furniture design. Despite its discontinuation in 1957, the table was reissued in 2007 and has kept its enduring popularity since.
