Florence Knoll modestly referred to her designs as the “meat and potatoes” of furniture, emphasizing their essential nature.

The 1954 End Table features a minimalist design with a square surface choice of stone, glass, or wood, supported by square tubular steel legs and rails. It is based on the Florence Knoll archives and measures 35.5″ x 35.5″ x 17″ high.
Florence Knoll’s End Table design was created to furnish the new interiors of postwar America. It translates architectural lines, gestures, and materials into a functional domestic form, influenced by Mies van der Rohe’s principles. This end table is slightly taller than the coffee tables from the series. It is a balance between low-profile coffee tables and occasional tables, making it practical for holding drinks, books, plants, and decorative items.
