The original Le Bambole Modular Seating System was designed by Mario Bellini in 1972 and awarded the prestigious Italian Compasso d’Oro deign award in 1979.

This Archetype Forms Le Bambole Modular Sofa Three-Seater Set consists of two angular end-corner pieces and one inner seating piece. The modules can form a spacious 3-seater sofa or be rearranged as a 2-seater loveseat and separate chair depending on what the mood or space requires.

Mario Bellini

Mario Bellini (b. 1935) is an Italian architect and designer known for his innovation in furniture and industrial design. He began his career after graduating from the Politecnico di Milano in 1959. Among Bellini's recognizable works is his Cab Chair series (1977), which features a unique leather "skin" zipped over a steel skeleton; and, his Le Bambole sofa series (1972), which pioneered the use of polyurethane foam moulding, creating soft, inviting forms that challenged traditional furniture construction. Bellini's architectural work includes the Tokyo Design Center and the renovation of the Milan Convention Center . His designs continue to influence modern furniture and industrial design.
