The Le Bambole by Mario Bellini was designed in 1972 and awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1979. This Ottoman element functions as a footrest or impromptu extra seating and can be part of the modular system or the standard Le Bambole versions. The originally released Le Bambole series is recognized for its unique construction and is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Bellini described Le Bambole as “not upholstered with fabric, but built in fabric,” highlighting its design in which the frame and padding is built within the fabric, the fabric is not solely a decorative overlay. The Le Bambole Ottoman features padding made of flexible, cold-shaped polyurethane foam and polyester fiber. The frame is constructed from durable polyethylene. The cover is available in fabric or leather. Buy the Ottoman from the Le Bambole Series online in Canada.Shown in Golden Ochre Velvet Fabric.
