The MR Chaise Lounge was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1927. Part of the MR Collection, some of the earliest steel furniture designs by Mies, this chaise lounge utilizes tubular steel combined with padded leather for support and comfort. Mies was influenced by Marcel Breuer’s use of tubular steel and drew inspiration from 19th-century iron rocking chairs. The MR Chaise Lounge has made notable appearances in popular culture, featured in films such as Batman v Superman, Justice League, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Widows, and more. The chaise lounge is constructed with belting support straps and channel quilted, seamed leather cushions attached via leather straps that wrap around the belting support, secured with snap buttons. Mies van der Rohe once remarked, “Architecture is a language; when you are very good, you can be a poet.” Shop the MR Chaise Lounge by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe Model 241LC in Canada.Shown in Black Aniline Leather on Polished Chrome Steel.
