The PK22 Easy Chair by Poul Kjærholm was designed in 1956. The PK22 gained international acclaim after winning the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1957. This prestigious award catapulted Kjærholm’s career and established him as a prominent figure in the design world. This iconic chair utilizes Kjærholm’s minimalist design ethos and innovative use of industrial materials—his signature choice, bent steel. The PK22’s design is recognized by its precise, tight rattan wicker, slightly inclined backrest, and steel frame.
