The Tulu Chair by Kazuhide Takahama was introduced in 1968 as part of his ongoing pursuit at merging Japanese design principles with European modernism. Kazuhide Takahama was a prominent figure in furniture design, bringing his unique perspective to European design, having studied under Kazuo Fujioka in Japan before moving to Italy. His philosophy centered around simplicity, precision and harmony, influenced by the principles of traditional Japanese aesthetics and the Bauhaus movement. The Tulu Chair has been displayed in several prestigious exhibitions, including the Triennale di Milano in Italy and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It is a stackable, upholstered steel rod chair, available in Canada.
