The LC1 Series Chair was originally designed by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, and Pierre Jeanneret. It revolutionized seating design with its lightweight, industrial structure and minimalist form. Inspired by colonial styles and human posture studies, the LC1 embodies Le Corbusier’s famous quote: “Chairs are architecture, sofas are bourgeois,” retaining crucial elements of design and function without excess.ย

This LC1 Villa Church Version features a wider, deeper profile than its LC1 Sling Chair counterpart, with added padding on the seat and back. It provides a more relaxed, lounged sitting experience than the traditional Sling Version. The LC1 Villa Church aligns with Le Corbusier’s view that “The home should be the treasure chest of living,” complimenting the aesthetic and function of its space while contributing to the joy of living.

As part of the larger LC collection, including the LC4 Chaise Lounge, LC2 Grand Confort Armchair and more, the LC1 Villa Church contributes to the designers’ cohesive vision of modern living.
