Afra Bianchin (1937-2011) and Tobia Scarpa (b.1935) were Italian designers who revolutionized 20th-century furniture and industrial design. The Scarpas' furniture designs, such as the iconic Soriana armchair & sofa series (1969) and the Bastiano sofa (1960), blend traditional craftsmanship with modern production techniques.
