The Pelican Chair was originally designed by Finn Juhl and first exhibited at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition. Inspired by the surrealist art of Jean Arp, the Pelican Chair features a sculptural, organic form with sweeping curves and bold legs.
The chair's ergonomic shape cradles the body, offering comfort and a sensation of being embraced. Available with or without buttons on the backrest, the Pelican Chair is a timeless and easily recognizable icon of mid-century modern furniture.
Shown with Marigold Faux Wool Tweed Main Upholstery, Milk Faux Wool Tweed Seat and Buttons, on Light Ash with Satin Varnish Legs.
The Pelican Lounge Chair is a faithful reproduction of the original Finn Juhl Poet Sofa, model FJ 4000 & FJ 4001.

Finn Juhl
Finn Juhl was a Danish architect and furniture designer who played a crucial role in popularizing Danish design internationally. He began his career after graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1934. Juhl is renowned for his organic, sculptural approach to furniture design, recognizable in pieces like the Poet Sofa (1941) and the Pelican Chair (1940).
