The Shell Chair Model 07 was originally designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1963. Known for its floating, wing-like form, the Shell Chair gained its height of popularity in the 1990s after a revival of Wegner's designs that has persisted since.

The instantly recognizable 07 Shell Chair is considered an icon of mid-century modern furniture design. Designed in 1963, it first debuted at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition. Its curved seat and back, give it a wing-like form.

Wegner once said "A chair is to have no backside. It should be beautiful from all sides and angles." The Shell chair realizes Wegner's philosophy with its unique 3-leg support, low profile, and molded plywood form that enhances the rooms it fills.
