The Gaja Bar Stool  was designed and developed by Kazuhide Takahama in 1974. Takahama was known for integrating traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern industrial design techniques, stating "My designs are a reflection of my journey, merging the serene minimalism of Japan with the dynamic innovation of Italy."

The Gaja Bar Stool features a lightweight steel rod, stackable structure with a minimalist aesthetic, focussing on logical use and clear form.

Shown in Red Carmine Suede on Polished Chrome Steel. Available with a padded or unpadded wire backrest.

The Gaja Bar Stool is rooted in Rationalism, featuring a lightweight steel rod, stackable structure with a minimalist aesthetic, focussing on logical use and clear form. The Gaja series of chairs and barstools are available with a padded or unpadded backrest, with this model featuring an unpadded backrest. It is a taller, counter height version of its dining chair counterpart.

Kazuhide Takahama was a Japanese architect and furniture designer known for his minimalist aesthetic and fusion of Eastern and Western design principles. He began his career in Japan before moving to Italy in 1957, where he collaborated closely with Dino Gavina and his influential company, Gavina SpA. Takahama is recognized for his elegant seating designs, including the Gaja series dining chairs and bar stools (1969) and the Tulu chairs (1968). His work is characterized by clean lines, geometric forms, and a focus on essential elements. Takahama's designs have become iconic representations of mid-century modern furniture.
