The Tulip Chair was originally designed as the as the model PK9 by Poul Kjærholm, a trained cabinetmaker and graduate of the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. The design was inspired by a sand imprint of Kjærholm's wife’s behind, which he used as a mould to find the optimal seating shape.
The Tulip Chair combines Kjærholm’s fascination with steel and his love for natural materials in its unique form, characterized by three bent-steel legs supporting the moulded upholstered seat.
Shown in Carminio Premium Italian Aniline Leather on Brushed Stainless Steel.
The Archetype Forms Poul Series: Tulip Chair is a faithful reproduction of the original Poul Kjærholm PK9 Tulip Chair in Leather.
