The 290 Plank Loveseat Sofa was originally designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1953. This 2-seater loveseat is recognizable by its broad armrests and visible external wooden frame, giving it its "plank" moniker.
Wegner’s philosophy in furniture design was to create pieces that were functional and exceptional. He famously said, "I have always wanted to make unexceptional things of an exceptionally high quality."
The Plank Loveseat Sofa combines traditional wood craftsmanship with exceptional comfort.
Shown in Moonrock Chenille Upholstery on White Oak with Protective Varnish.
The Archetype Forms AF290 Plank Sofa: Two-Seater Loveseat is a faithful reproduction of the original Hans J. Wegner Plank Loveseat Sofa, also known as Model GE-290 2 Plank Sofa.
