The Committee Chair was originally designed by Pierre Jeanneret as part of the Chandigarh Capitol Complex project in the 1950s, a major architectural endeavor led by Jeanneret and Le Corbusier to symbolize India's post-independence optimism and modernist ideals.
The Committee Chairs were made for use in the Parliament House and administrative offices in the project. Characterized by its distinctive upside-down V-shaped side supports, solid wood structure, and cushioned back and seat, this armless version is available in teak or solid oak, with custom finish and padded upholstery.
Shown in Abisso Premium Suede on White Oak Frame.
The Archetype Forms Committee Chair: Padded Side Chair is a faithful reproduction of the original Pierre Jeanneret Committee Side Chair, also known as the Model 062 Committee Chair & Chandigarh Committee Chair.
